New Secure Residential Treatment Facility Opening in Marion County

SALEM, Ore. — June 27, 2025 — Marion County took another significant step forward yesterday in addressing community behavioral health and public safety needs with the official ribbon cutting for a new Secure Residential Treatment Facility (SRTF) at 325 Lancaster Drive in Salem.

Commissioners Danielle Bethell and Colm Willis were in attendance, and Governor Tina Kotek was present and gave remarks on the achievement.

The event marked turning the facility over from the developers to the operators, Jory Behavioral Health. The new facility is a Class 1 SRTF, build to support individuals dealing with severe and persistent mental illnesss (SPMI) who need a high level of care and may be a danger to themselves or others.

“Our community has needed additional resources in this area for so long," said Commissioner Bethell, Chair. "I’m beyond thrilled to see this new SRTF opening up to serve vulnerable populations in our community who need and deserve to be safe and cared for."

The facility is currently in process to receive formal accreditation from the Oregon Health Authority. It will be able start receiving residents in the coming weeks.
