JOIN US: Detroit Marinas Excavation and Resiliency Project Open House

Marion County and our community partners have been hard at work supporting our constituents in the Santiam Canyon who were affected by the 2020 wildfires. As part of the collaborative effort to rebuild, we invite you to learn more about the Detroit Marinas Excavation and Resiliency Project and participate in concept planning.

Marion County will be hosting an in-person Community Open House during the annual Fishing Derby this Saturday, May 20 from 11am-2pm at Detroit City Hall. We invite you to join us as we discuss options to create a more reliable lake season, including plans to:

  • Excavate sediment material beneath local marinas to extend the boating season

  • Reuse excavated sediment material to construct new land features in Detroit Lake

  • Support the local economy with expanded recreation options in Detroit

Stop by any time from 11am - 2pm at Detroit City Hall to learn more about the project, ask questions, and share feedback on preferred alternatives.

To learn more about the project and submit your comments, visit the Open House website: detroitmarinas.com.
